The fact that it has a fan & light build into one is very convenient and useful. The magnet attachment is useful for tent without a loop or string in the middle for lighting or fan. Only issue is the output of the fan, when you turn it to high, you can feel that the fan motor is actually very powerful. I believe the reason for the wind to be weak is because of the safety foam fan blades. It's kinda short too as it has a lot more space to allow a bigger & longer fan blade to increase the wind output. Overall, it's a good buy for use in a tent on a very hot night.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this product. My family went away in Pennsylvania during August... it was hot. I bought one fan for each tent. I read so many reviews complaining that the fan did not cool the tent. We have a 4 person tent, and it was great. It circulated the air making the tent comfortable. It runs quietly, and the light/night light is nice. Keep in mind that it is a fan, not an air conditioner. We were all very happy with the fans, and I can't wait to use it again.
One set of new Duracell Batteries lasted three nights, and there is still juice left. (Fan on High with amber led on)
Fan could be stronger, but was enough to circulate air in the tent. Would recommend.
Camped in Northern Wisconsin. Average night temps high 60s - low 70s.
This fan seemed like a great option. It provided good air movement and the lighting choices were nice, especially with a 2-year-old camping with us. However, the clip broke and the light housing cracked after just a few days of use. The magnet also is not strong enough to secure the fan, leaving us worried about what breeze was going to dislodge the fan onto our son. It seems like Coleman has enough experience to do better with this type of product. We are returning our fan.
You get what you pay for and theses fans work great. They run on D batteries and lasted 20 hours of straight running. They arent strong but they are quiet and were just enuf too move the air so we could sleep. The light was dim but we have lanterns so went it was dark they worked just fine. I would buy these again and they were easy to move around. I was scared they would rip screen, but they were fine. The friends we were with were going to buy them after they seen how well they worked.
So I got this in the mail the day before we went camping. So I did not get a chance to try it out before we went camping. I wish that I would have!! It would not even turn on!!! I was very dissapointed. Returning as of right now! Amazon was great with returning it though!
