This is the best movie in the trilogy. The stakes are higher, the story is better, and the villain's the best. I loved the first two movies and i'm not saying that heath ledger didn't do a great job as the joker but tom hardy's bane is better. in this one you actually feel as though batman's really in trouble. That aside there were two serious problems with this movie, one the voice over at the beginning is horrible so thank you to everyone who cried that they couldn't understand bane talk, thanks to you they added a shitty voice over which is my only real problem with the movie. my other problem is that catwoman saves batman from having his head blown off at the end. as usual the good guy defeats the bad guy and saves the day. are they ever going to change it up.
I think the direction and cinematography in all three of the Nolan Batman movies were fantastic. From a cinematic standpoint the movies all get an A+. From a story point of view in regards to the character of Bruce Wayne and Batman, the movies were all immensely disrespectful. Bales Batman is the Batman would would get his butt kicked first if every other Batman version were tossed into a pit to duke it out to the death. Bale would die first. I hate seeing Batman struggle and it is really hard to watch these movies after watching something like the early 90s Batman series cartoon or the Justice League / Unlimited versions, where he was just too cool for school, never quit, made his own path and gadgets and never relied on anyone for anything. He was super slick, super sleuth capable of out maneuvering nearly anyone no matter how powerful or fast they are. Batman was always a step ahead.
In Nolans vision of this fantasy super hero, he is more humanized and toned back to suit the current Reality TV obsessed generation. He struggles at nearly every turn, looks to Lucious Fox for almost all of his gear and ( Spoilers do not read beyond this ) Actually quit due to some injury or unwillingness? UH...No. Batman does not quit...ever. He never fought Bane 1v1 like a Gorilla in the comics or any of the cartoon versions. He outsmarted him and used his speed to his advantage, as well as Banes lack luster fighting skills and used his momentum against him. Nolan said to hell with that, lets just have Bale fight Bane like an Ape, wild and uncontrolled. The movie was polar opposite of the awesome batman renditions I love. This is just my opinion, it is really upsetting to enjoy 60 years of a batman COMIC that is not realistic at all, with full knowledge of knowing he is bigger than life, a super hero, does things normal humans cannot do, but then go watch Nolans movies and see Reality TV Batman. It just doesn't fit to us older fans. The products of the early 90s cartoon and comics generation like myself hate realistic characters. Batman THAT REAL has no business existing. You are talking about one of the smartest characters in comic history who was a meta human at the peak of human evolution, the guy would balance on one hand and flip himself up to his feet, jump over 30ft gaps in rooftops with 100lbs of gear on...Too realistic is bad. In the case of Nolans movies, they were all pretty bad in that regard.
But still very entertaining and extremely well made. The music score is so bad, Hanz Really has no idea how to score an epic or make you remember his work. Can anyone hum the Joker theme, or Rajs theme? How about the main batman theme for the movie? No? Don't feel bad, almost nobody can because the score is immensely forgettable.
Overall, the movie was 9/10 for me for all artistic qualities outside of the music and sound editing. Beyond that, its not fun to see Batman portrayed as a coward and a sissy who runs away a lot. If reality were warped somehow and any of the other Batman renditions saw what Bale was up to and how much of a coward he was, I think they would beat the living crap out of him before Bale could blink.
One of the BEST movies I have ever seen! I saw it at the midnight release and was absolutely blown away! From start to finish, and incredible thrill ride that will take your breath away!
My favorite part about is were the new 4D features! I remember hearing them describe it before the film. "You get shot, just like the Batman!"
Please give us real digital download options... google play or itunes would be nice. Ultraviolet is a joke, hopefully it dies off soon!
