My Fitness Coach 2: Exercise and Nutrition

I was in love with the first game so I thought the second would be the perfect next step. I have never been more wrong.

I'm not a particularly fit or active person and I still find that these workouts are simple and boring. My set workouts don't even take 10 minutes, and I can't find a way to extend the workout duration. That <10 minutes even includes extra time while the game forces you to watch your "trainer" display terribly cheesy facial expressions and encouraging gestures. After EVERY exercise. Rather than encouraging me to keep working out, it frequently encourages me to pick a different method of exercising.

This was a huge disappointment. It might as well have been marketed under a different title completely, because it was barely comparable to the first at all, let alone being a satisfying upgrade.

I have been using this game to help me stay in shape. I like it because you can customize it to your priorities. For example: my primary goal is set to "tummy loss" and my secondary goal is "de-stress." You can also choose from 4 trainers who have different specialties and from 4 different backgrounds. I chose the beach background to help me remember my goal to be in shape for my tropical honeymoon!

On thing I don't like about this game is that when the system senses you are not performing an exercise correctly, the trainer reprimands you. Sometimes the system reads that I am performing an exercise incorrectly even when I am mirroring the trainer.

I like that the game has healthy recipes available. You can create a menu for the whole week using these recipes and the game will give you a grocery list. I don't like that the recipes are measured using the metric system and that a few of the ingredients would only be available in a British import store.

Overall, this game has been successful in keeping me in shape and it only takes about 15 minutes a day!

For the most part this video is easy, but I found it too slow. It is definitely not aerobic. There is too much time between each exercise while the instructor is moving from one exercise to another and then the reps are pretty slow as well. It works some muscle groups well, but it is not at all what I expected & there are definitely too few different exercises. I can not do push-ups and it is difficult to get the game to skip this exercise. I will use it, but not as often as others I already had.

As I quickly approach middle age, I definitely need to exercise. Unfortunately, it has been several years since I have exercised and have more than several pounds to lose. This "game" is just right. It starts out at a speed I can handle, a snail's pace, and progresses. The Lifestyle Tips are very helpful. It also offers a nutrition plan, but I am going a different route for that. Overall, for me . . . this is the way to go.
